As part of its vision to acquire and reimagine underutilized properties in desirable core locations, Carlyle acquired 145, 149-157 Bathurst Street, a collection of six row houses in 2016. Located just south of Queen Street West, one of the most desirable commercial real estate strips in the country, the property boasts proximity to the city’s best shopping as well as attractions such as historic Fort York. Carlyle successfully navigated the rezoning process to obtain approvals for a 16-storey residential development, unlocking additional density through a small infill site. The value created by the condominium tower resulted in an unsolicited off-market offer to purchase the property. Disposition for this development was completed in May 2019.
